MONDAY- Quirky Band Tees!

If you’re like me, you love going to shows and over the years, have ended up with tons of band tees…and few ways to incorporate them into your everyday wardrobe.  While t-shirts on the larger side work as excellent work out apparel, some of our favorites deserve a better fate than that.  Thus, here are two ideas for wearing band tees in a fresh way.

Outfit #1: High Waisted Shorts
As the weather slowly creeps into the warmer temperatures, this would be a good look to break out.  Take your band-tee of choice (My Chemical Romance for me!) and tuck it loosely into bright high-waisted shorts.   A looser and flowy-er top would work best, or you can even cut the neckline of it to make the fit looser or even off-the-shoulder.  Lace-up booties and a cute hair bow add quirky touches and finish off the look.

Outfit #2: Maxi-Skirt
Maxi-skirts and especially maxi-dresses are always rolled out in stores each spring and summer season, and many people consider them a wardrobe basic.  Personally I feel the look overwhelms my 5’3’’ frame but they look amazing on taller and curvier girls!  This would be a fun and easy look for a day when it’s warm but you would like a little more coverage.  Tuck the tee into the skirt and belt it at the waist.  You can also use a maxi-dress if you have one instead, either cropping the tee or belting over it.  A fringe bag lends a subtle boho vibe, and any shoes will do since the skirt is so long.  Note: a shoe with a heel can easily remedy a too-long train for us shorter girls!

Hailing from eastern Washington, Julia attends the University of Portland in Oregon, as a Communication Studies major with an emphasis on Journalism. As a magazine and book junkie, Julia reads everything (and anything) she can get her hands on, especially those passionate on young adult culture and entertainment. A woman that gets stir-crazy easily, Julia has been fortunate to have traveled many summers in a row to foreign countries, including a study abroad course in Austria, Germany, and Great Britain. Since a ripe age, she has grown and cultivated her passion and dream of working for a magazine and spreading awareness as well as happiness through the tips of her fingers. Always finding time for herself, Julia can frequently be found quoting movie lines (most frequently Will Ferrell or Vince Vaughn), having a 90's dance party with her roommates, or rereading "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" for the 40th time.
