When was the last time you did something for the first time? A week ago, a month ago, a year ago? How about tomorrow?!
Portland is full of great new experiences, many of which can be done during the weekend. For those of you who have a sense of adventure (and some free time this weekend) I’ve compiled a list of cool “Portland” things to try.
For culture-seeking-collegiettes:
- Try one of Portland’s very own exotic food carts.
- Movies and beer? Portland is full of “Movie Brewpubs,” and one is located right in our own backyard. (McMenamins’s St. Johns Theater & Pub)
- Check out Holocene in Southeast. Always cheap cover, always cool events.
- Head past Germantown to Skyline Burger or Helvetia Tavern. Best burgers ever!
For outdoor-loving-collegiettes:
- Explore the Gorge from the Oregon AND Washington side. Easy hikes, breathtaking views.
- Hike Forest Park and Hoyt Arboretum
- Head out to Sauvie’s and explore a local farmers market.
- Hike underground through ancient lava tubes at the Ape Caves
A few other suggestions:
- Grab some of Portland’s finest ice cream at Ruby Jewel.
- Take an Intro to Glass Fusing class at Well’s Glass Studio.
- For those over 21, check out the bar scene on Mississippi St.
What would you add to the list? We want to know – tell us in the comments below :)
