How to Make the Best of Dorm Life

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Portland chapter.

Living in the dorms was by far one of my favorite parts of college. I made countless memories and I wouldn’t trade dorm life for anything. Most people might say dorm life stinks and that you really just move off-campus, but you only have 4 years to live in a community like this. Only 4 years to have friends 5 feet away from you. Only 4 years to experience sharing a bathroom with 20 other people. Here’s how to make the most of your time living in the dorm:

1. Keep your door open

2. Hang out in the lobby

3. Join Hall Council

4. Get to Know Your Resident Assistant

Victoria is a senior marketing major with a sustainability minor at the University of Portland. In her free time, she loves browsing the aisles of Target, exploring Portland and drinking chocolate milk. When in doubt her outfits are almost entirely from Old Navy and you can normally find her in Kenna Hall where she is one of the Resident Assistants.
