With all the positive attention Justin Bieber has been receiving for the latest release of his album, Purpose (swoon), there are still people constantly trying to tear him down and remind the world of “the old Justin”…the bad boy.  But, as a longtime fan of Justin Bieber, I’ve decided to write an open letter to him, reminding him that no matter what anyone says, us Beliebers will always stand beside him.

My Dearest Justin –

I would like to start by saying that after years and years of using my 11:11 wish on wanting to be your “one less lonely girl,” I have finally accepted the fact that it just is not going to happen.  (Curse you Selena.)  Now that we have that out of the way and I have officially announced my moving on, I would like to get to the business of this letter.  While I could sit here and confess my love to you and admit to you and the rest of the world that I (shamelessly) suffer from an intense case of Bieber Fever, the real reason for me writing to you is to say thank you.

From the very beginning, I have been a fan of your music.  It made me happy and gave me hope and it all just made sense to me in my young teenage years. Plus, what thirteen year old girl wouldn’t fall head over heels for a thirteen year old boy who sang catchy songs about wanting to make us “one less lonely girl”?!  You defined what it means to start from the bottom.  You worked hard from the start to earn as much success as you have at this point in your life.  From the very beginning, with your covers of Usher songs that lead you to a life of stardom, until now, selling out arenas for your Purpose Tour, you’ve always been a true talent.  It’s time to face that fact, people.

It’s so easy for people to point fingers at you and call you a “bad person” for all of the mistakes you’ve made in the past (and will continue to make, I’m sure).  But, I’d like to take this moment to say that I don’t think that’s very fair of us at all.  Normal young adults make mistakes.  Lots of them.  We break rules.  We drive too fast.  We party and do things that we definitely shouldn’t be doing.  We selfishly get caught up in our own lives and tend to forget how our actions might be affecting those around us.  What normal people your age don’t share with you is the fact that you have got millions of people watching and judging your every move.  We can go to a party and get away with pretty much anything because who is watching us?  Probably no one.

But you, Justin, have had an audience watching you and shaking their fingers at you and completely forgetting that you’re still a guy trying to find his way in the world considering your circumstances.  These people will do anything and everything to tear you down and destroy the success that you have made for yourself.  Do I think you could have handled some things differently when you were practically being made out to be public enemy number one?  Yes.  Am I going to hate you for making mistakes and taking a little bit of time to learn from them?  No.  We are all human and we all make mistakes and I believe we all deserve a chance to prove ourselves and who we really are in this world.  You shouldn’t be any different just because you’re Justin Bieber.

It’s pretty incredible how you’ve turned things around.  I don’t think you are given enough credit for the wild success of this latest album.  You went from being disliked by quite a few people to shining in the spotlight once again.  With guest appearances on a handful of talk shows, special performances, surprising fans… I think it is safe to say that you have made one of the biggest comebacks that we’ve ever seen.  Not only has this comeback been about redeeming yourself with your fans, but the music in general is awesome.  I’d be lying if I said I didn’t listen to “Sorry” about a thousand times a day.  With one of your best albums yet, I think you’ve got another road of success stretched out ahead of you!

So Justin Bieber, I would like to thank you.  Thank you for having a dream and working hard to make that dream a reality.  Thank you for inspiring millions of young people to go after what they love, no matter what it takes.  Thank you for making mistakes and learning from them.  We all go through different things in life and one of the biggest challenges is figuring out how we can move forward from them.  You’ve managed to prove that you’re ready to move on and be a better person and I think we should all admire that. Thank you for being true to yourself, no matter what anyone says.  Thank you for giving your fans a reason to be proud of you and a reason to stand by you again.  And last but not least, thank you for being so gosh darn irresistible.  Seriously man, you’re #blessed.

(Brace yourselves for the following.)

Yours truly,

A Dedicated Belieber
