How to Have Your Best Semester Yet, According to Gossip Girl

As we get back into the grove and de-stress now that midterms are officially done, it’s time to focus on YOU! This semester is about taking some extra time to be the best “you” yet. Whether you feel at your best ditching your sweats and glamming up for class with some new clothes and makeup, treating yourself after a long week to Chipotle, or taking some time to give back to the community, it’s important to remember that college isn’t just about the schoolwork. Take it from the girls of Gossip Girl; you need to take some of that focus on school and put it on yourself! It’s time to learn a lesson or two from the girls who know how to have the best semester ever. We’ve got the inside scoop on how to be a Blair or Serena!

Take it from Miss Blair Waldorf. It ain’t easy being the queen of the Upper East Side. No matter what anyone says, Blair never lets anyone put her down. She is the Queen B, the one who everyone desires to be. Her confidence and brilliant (scheming) mind make her an inspiration to us all. Maybe some of Blair’s actions aren’t role model material, yet Blair strives to take over her mother’s company and make something of the Waldorf name. Blair would be the perfect candidate for the No Ceilings: The Full Participation Project. This initiative by the Clinton Foundation works to inspire girls and women of the 21st century to strive for gender equality in our daily lives. So live your life like Queen B and don’t let any man put you down.

Along with the No Ceilings Project, we all know that Blair would support She’s the First mission to provide scholarships to girls in low-income countries. Blair is all about empowering women to strive for success in school and the workplace; she would stop by STF Tie-Dye Cupcake Bake-Off in no time.

We can’t forget Serena van der Woodsen, the blonde bombshell whose wardrobe we all want to steal. The carefree, energetic Serena looks #flawless every second of the day. Every girl has envy over the carefree, beach-y waves that Serena has mastered. No need to think any further! With TRESemmé Perfectly (un)Done Sea Salt Spray & Wave Creation Sea Foam, you’ll be on your way to looking like a Van der Woodsen.

When we think Gossip Girl we all think Serena and Blair, but let’s not forget about one of the underdogs: Jenny Humphrey. Jenny may have gotten caught up in Blair’s scheming and the desire to be the Queen B, yet she knows how to be a fashion icon. Jenny can rock a smoky eye better than anyone at Constance. With some NYC New York Color City Proof 24HR Waterproof Eyeshadow & Eye Primer, you can rock some Jenny inspired eye makeup (maybe go a little lighter on the black eyeshadow than Jenny).

Jenny never gave up on her dream to become a fashion designer. The Jenny we know—who was raised by Rufus Humphrey *swoon* and who deep down is a good girl—would support My Social Canvas, a New York City-based social enterprise fashion brand that involves students and emerging designers in creating apparel for a cause. Who knows, the next Jenny Humphrey fashion mogul could come from My Social Canvas!

Let’s get back to Blair for a moment. A Gossip Girl episode wouldn’t be complete without a Blair Waldorf headband. Blair could have a closet just full of all her extravagant headbands. Spice up your look this semester with a Blair Waldorf headband! If you don’t want to break the bank, have some fun and make your own headband. Crafting is always a stress reliever, and with Martha Stewart Crafts supplies, you can create any DIY Pinterest headband your heart desires. Move over, Queen B!

Along with her headbands, Blair’s outfits are ON. POINT. We dream that someday we can own every outfit in her closet. For example, take the outfit above. Blair makes every girl in NYC want to go buy that hat. The last accessory Blair needs to complete this look is a stylish tote. The MZ Wallace Chelsea Tote is the perfect bag to add that sophisticated feel to Blair’s outfit. Not to mention the luxurious bag can fit anything and everything in it!

While Blair was the official queen of Gossip Girl, we still know who the unofficial queen of the city was: Dorota. We still think that Dorota is secretly Gossip Girl, because Dorota knows all—especially all of the Waldorf house’s secrets. We got the inside scoop from Dorota on all things Waldorf, and she confessed the one item that Blair requests at every meal: Zing™ Zero Calorie Stevia Sweetener. Blair refuses to drink any coffee without this sugar substitute—the natural ingredients sweeten her coffee during late nights scheming!
