Philly Hotspots: Beiler’s Donuts

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Jefferson chapter.

There are hundreds of places to go for a sweet treat in Philly. Whenever I’m craving doughnuts, I make it a point to stop at Beiler’s Donuts—a destination spot in Reading Terminal Market. Beiler’s makes 60 different flavors of doughnuts, ranging from classic glaze, to Maple Bacon, to—my favorite—apple fritters! However, there is a new, and currently lesser-known, location in University City on 39th and Chestnut. I was waiting all week to check out this new location and it did not disappoint.

I was welcomed by a modern atmosphere where a bunch of twenty-somethings sat at tables and munched on donuts after a long week of classes. I didn’t get to Beiler’s until an hour before closing, so all that was left of most flavors were just crumbs.

Nevertheless, that didn’t stop me from being able to purchase a half dozen delicious treats before I hit the road! I was able to pick up two glazed, a boston crème, a chocolate sprinkled, an “Old Fashioned” and a PB&J flavored donut.

This particular location also serves coffee, tea, frozen frappes and ice-cream, a much wider selection than that of the Reading Terminal Market location.

Beiler’s new University City location is a great place to catch up with friends or to just take a break from the city while snacking on a great treat. Without a doubt I’ll be visiting again!
