This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Jefferson chapter.

Rose Mauloni is 20 years old and from Riverton, New Jersey. She is a Sophomore fashion merchandising and management major and wants to go into Visual Merchandising after college. Her style icons are Victoria Beckham and Grace Kelly. I sat down to talk to her about how she gets her great sense of style.

Where do you shop the most?  Where do you find the best deals?

I shop the most at a combination of places; Zara, H&M, and Asos. I like quality clothing at an affordable price. These places are a mix of classic and trendy. My most recent purchase is a pair of shoes from Zara I got during their huge sale. I am a major shoes girl; I have so many pairs. I will always pick a good pair of shoes over jewelry and accessories. While I love trendy affordable fashion, I find the best deals at Salvation army and Philly Aids Thrift. I don’t shop there super often because I am not the biggest searcher, but I do find a lot of great pieces there that fit perfectly into my wardrobe.

Do you prefer to shop in-store or online?

I think its more fun to shop in-stores but I always end up spending more money when I am in store than I do online. I find better deals online but in-store shopping is just a great experience that you can’t give it up. I love going into the city with friends and going into stores to try on clothes, even if it is completely over priced. It’s like dress up for adults!

Describe your style?

Classic, chic, monotone with a pop of red.

What item in your closet is your go-to for every outfit?

This jacket is from express, it was my big splurge of the summer. I really like it because it is black and I can wear it over any item in my wardrobe. It instantly makes any outfit chicer.  I also love the leather detailing on it, it just makes me feel more confident in any outfit I wear.

What is your favorite fashion blog and do you have a blog?

My favorite fashion blogger is Chriselle Lim.

She has amazing style inspires me with every outfit she posts.

I also just recently started a blog.

My most popular post is ‘One Scarf Four Ways,’ where I style my scarf in ways that many would not think of, such as wearing it around my ankle to add detail to my shoes. I am a major scarf collector. I definitely own more than 20 and even have a Versace scarf that I got for Christmas.

Currently I am working on a blogpost where I wear an outfit inspired by each decade from the past 100 years. Each look is a modern adaptation based on trends from the past and present. Here is a sneak peak of my seventies inspired outfit. These pictures were taken at the restaurant Continental Midtown, which was the perfect diner for a seventies inspired outfit – plus the food there is delicious.
