Making a Successful Semester

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at PS Berks chapter.

  1. Have access to the textbooks you need

You don’t necessarily have to go and buy/rent the textbooks. Sharing or borrowing them from the library can be okay, as long as you have what you need at the times you need it. You can take pictures or make copies of the pages. Depending on the class, you might need the book to do your homework. In actuality, you try and save the money by not getting the text book but lose the money because you can’t do the assignments for the class.

  1. Read the syllabus

It’s the only way you’re going to know what’s due ahead of time. You can also check out the professor’s late policy. There may also be explanations about the expectations for the projects throughout the semester.

  1. Use a planner/whiteboard

Writing homework down is helpful so you know how to plan your week. Writing meetings down as well means that you know when you don’t have the extra time that you usually do. Having a whiteboard in your dorm room means that you see your daily to-do list as soon as you wake up.
