Why You Must Splurge on Concert Tickets

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Oswego chapter.

The excitement, contagious screams, and the overall hype atmosphere is what’s expected in any concert you go to. Catching your favorite artist or band perform live is something everyone should experience. Imagine being really immersed in the music you love with the chance to meet people that jam to the same music as you do (lots of beautiful friendships start off that way).

Indie, rock, pop, hip-hop, country, folk … the list goes on with the types of music that can be enjoyed during a live concert. Even with all of these different genres, music is a universal language that everyone connects through. It’s a different experience to listen to lyrics while listening to music on Spotify or Soundcloud, however, hearing those lyrics in a live “personal” setting is such a magical moment.

If you go to a concert, remember that it’s OK to spend a little extra money for good seats, especially if it’s your favorite artist performing. While at the concert, don’t record the performance. Everyone around you will be sure to do this so why not enjoy the performance that’s right in front of you with your own eyes? Those same videos are going to be up on YouTube the next day anyway.

Enjoy that experience and scream the lyrics out at the top of your lungs like nobody’s watching! Live in that present moment and be grateful for that experience.

I'm known as kind of being a hippy who loves to meditate, do yoga, and listen to music. I'm always up for an adventure and am interested in living creatively, working for a bigger purpose, and continuing my adventures around the world!
