Just Breathe

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Oswego chapter.

It’s crunch time. Two weeks until finals and the work is piling on. Ten page papers, group projects, and presentations are all due. Coffee is you best friend and sleep is a distant memory.

Did that just stress you out?

It’s time to change your habits when it comes to the end of the semester. You have two weeks. Write down everything you need to do, then split the list into categories of most important and less important. Prioritize the work that needs to be done first. Get one paper or project done at a time and work your way through the list.

Stress can cause you to get sick, interfere with your sleep pattern, and cause depression. Don’t let yourself get stressed out. Give yourself breaks when you need them.

After you finish a paper, go for a run or take a few hours on Saturday and go shopping with your closest friends. On those nice evenings, walk down to Bev’s and grab an ice cream while you watch the sunset. Reward yourself for your hard work; it will make it easier for you to get through it all.

While you’re doing your work, take small break and walk around. Grab a healthy snack (healthy snacks will fuel or body more than junk food) or listen to some music.

Once you finish up your work, just breath. You’re done and you can enjoy laying out in the sun all day, read that book you’ve been waiting to indulge in, and hang out with friends.

I am from a small town outside of Syracuse, New York. In high school, I ran Cross Country and track where I competed in the 100m hurdles, 4x1, 200m and many other events. I now attend SUNY Oswego and I am majoring in journalism and anthropology. I have recently added a minor in health science because of my passion for health and fitness. Last semester, I wrote a health and fitness blog for Her Campus Oswego. I currently work as a personal trainer on campus. I love readings, writing, skiing, running, and I am a major shop-aholic! KM <3
