Fashion is something that is always evolving. New trends emerge day-by-day changing the course of what’s hot and what’s not. I am no trend forecaster but we’re going to take a little trip into the future, like in the new movie from Paramount, Hot Tub Time Machine 2, and take a look at what I think college fashion is going to be like in the coming years.

Something that I notice while walking around campus everyday is the growth of athletic wear. In my opinion, the past few years have shown a lot of growth in healthy living, eating, and exercising. I think that people are becoming more aware of what they are putting in their bodies and want to take care of themselves and with that comes buying all the clothing to go with it. Usually something only worn at the gym, this style of clothing has been dominating the industry lately and quickly taking down jeans with it. Now shoppers are taking their workout apparel from day to night by adding on a jacket or changing shoes.

Leggings are being made in various fabrics like leather or feature a vibrant pattern and some even have mesh inserts, which makes them more versatile for everyday wear. To go from the gym to class, I like to throw on a sweater or sweatshirt with a scarf. If you want to make your athletic wear part of your night out, pair your leggings with a t-shirt dress and moto jacket. When choosing shoes, a boot or slip on will make the look more casual while adding a heeled bootie or pump will dress the whole thing up.

Julie is a Senior at The Ohio State University pursuing degrees in Fashion and Retail and Business. A lover of all things fashion from a young age, she loves having the chance to write the style blog for the site as well as being the chapter's President. When she is not writing, she loves singing in Ohio State's Women's Glee Club, updating her style blog, and online shopping when she should be doing homework.
