Danny Valley ’16

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at OSU chapter.

Name: Danny Valley
Year: Sophomore
Major: Molecular Genetics/Nutrition
Hometown: Springfield
Relationship Status: Taken (sorry, ladies!)

HC: Describe yourself in three words?
DV: Danger, explosive, hot. But really: fun, intelligent, dedicated/hardworking.

HC: What are some of your interests/hobbies?
DV: Physical activity (running, biking, swimming, etc.), being outdoors, cooking, watching movies, music, building things–pretty much anything hands-on. Oh…I probably shouldn’t say this, but I really like shopping, either for clothes or kitchen appliances. I like to look nice.

HC: What is your biggest turn on?
DV: A girl who can make me laugh and keep me intellectually stimulated. Also, a little touching here and there, not sexual, but sensual…

HC: What is the most romantic thing you’ve ever done for a girl?
DV: I can’t narrow it down to one… But I like to surprise her. Setting up scavenger hunts, impromptu trips (usually something involving nature), but I think it’s best to give a girl flowers or some token of your appreciation when she least expects it and for no reason to show that you care about her or that you’ve been thinking of her. I try really hard to incorporate little things she likes that she might think I miss or don’t pay attention to. The little things turn out to make the biggest difference.

HC: Who is your celebrity crush?
DV: Olivia Wilde or Emma Watson.

HC: Where do you see yourself in ten years?
DV: Some sort of bigger city, probably on the west coast. Wife, kids, dogs, tree house, the whole nine yards.

HC: What is your ideal first date?
DV: Something fun! Dinner is fine, but maybe something like kayaking or a hike, maybe going to a concert–just something different, something to remember. If all else fails, there’s nothing wrong with dinner and a movie, as long you get a chance to really talk to each other.

HC: What are some dating tips you would give to a girl from a guys perspective?
DV: Be yourself, be outgoing and have fun. Don’t wait for the guy to make the first move, that’s so frustrating!! Don’t be afraid to show that you’re interested–guys like that!
