I know, I know, it’s like 12 degrees outside and you have to find the motivation to get out of bed AND go to class. We’ve all been there, and the idea of putting on anything other than leggings and a sweatshirt sounds strenuous. Although it seems nearly impossible to look cute during winter term, I’m here to promise you that it’s not. You can look chic with little to no effort and stay cozy. I mean, it’s a win-win all around.

1. Edgy Chic: You know what’s easier than putting on sweats and looks cuter? That’s right, a dress. In chilly temperatures, adding fleece-lined tights will warm this summery outfit right up. Some combat boots and a leather jacket will add an edge to a girly frock and keep things casual. Throw on a beanie to keep your ears toasty, and a simple piece of jewelry to finish your look. Try stores like: H&M, Journey’s, and Forever 21.

2. Comfy Cozy: Sweaters are a must when it’s cold. Throwing a soft one over a t-shirt is just as comfortable as wearing your PJ’s, but more fashionable (and less embarrassing). Worker boots are big this year and owning a pair will make the trek through the cold easier. Try stores like: Nordstrom Rack, Pacsun, and Wet Seal.

3. Pretty in Pastels: Rosy hues are a pretty contrast against Oregon clouds.  Lighten up with floral tones and throw in a turtleneck to shield your neck from the cold. As Oregon girls, we know when it rains, it pours. Swap out your shoes for some fuzzy socks and cute rain boots! Try stores like: Aritzia, H&M, and Nordstrom Rack.

4. French Intentions: This outfit is for those awkward days when it’s too cold for a t-shirt, but too warm for a puffy coat. Re-use a striped crop top from summertime for a Parisian twist and throw on a wool coat over it. Add some loose trousers, which are basically chic sweatpants, and a cute bow to make bedhead look intended (of course) and voilà! Try stores like: Forever 21, H&M, and Kohl’s.

5. Chunky scarfs are a go-to when skies are gray. Clear the clouds with a sky blue jacket that’s not only warm, but also a trendy color this coming spring. A cozy scarf and jacket combo never go out of style. Want to get trendier? Add toasted almond-colored booties and tote to include another future spring hue. Try stores like: H&M, Macy’s, and American Eagle.
