“Baby you’re a firework, come on, show ‘em what you’re worth!”
Katy said it best—women have a lot to say, and a lot to prove. And this generation is all about empowerment. Modern female stars like Lady Gaga and Katy Perry have become wonder-women in the eyes of young ladies, because they strive to send out songs about being strong. Their bold fashion and music choices show off individuality, femininity, and the courage to make their own way in the world; something all collegiettes should strive for.
I’m always seeing encouragement for girls to “be yourself”, and “love yourself”. Magazines like Seventeen and Glamour promote self-acceptance. Loving your mind and body is in. Being independent is something you shouldn’t sacrifice for anything.
It’s not just about celebrities and women in the spotlight anymore. Dozens of organizations put forth the image of female empowerment.
