Fall Into Step: SUNY Oneonta on an Autumn Day

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Oneonta chapter.

Life at SUNY Oneonta is truly great. Even on the days where the work is unbearable and doesn’t seem to end, a place that is home to restaurants such as The Yellow Deli can never really be too bad. I speak for myself as well as the majority of other students here when I say our one complaint is this: the winter. Because we know that temperatures below zero are quickly approaching, we appreciate these fall days fully and completely. Here are a few examples of how we take advantage of these warm, crisp moments while we can:

1.  Blankets on the Grass

Before the grass is tucked away completely under a white blanket of snow, we figure we should use blankets of our own to hang out on the grass with. Whether it’s doing homework, hanging with friends, or just relaxing, it’s nice to be outside and take in the nice weather while it’s still here.

2.  Music

Pretty much any time I step outside and it’s nice out, somebody is playing a guitar, strumming away. It’s cool to walk to class while soothing and peaceful melodies are playing in the background.

3.  Flannels

Fall is that perfect time of the year where coats and jackets aren’t necessary, but some sort of long sleeve is. Flannels are weather appropriate and adorable! They are stylish and make for the perfect fall outfit.

4.  Pumpkin Spice Lattes

You KNOW that fall has arrived when the Starbucks up at Hunt Union breaks out the PSL’s. It comes in a pretty and festive cup that holds the yummiest drink. It’s basically Fall in a liquid form.

5.  The Pond

The Pond outside of Hunt Union is one of the best things about fall at Oneonta. With the dock just above the water, you can dangle your feet over the edge and take in the beautiful changing leaves on trees.
