Dear Coffee, as Told by New Girl

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Oneonta chapter.

Dear Coffee,

First and foremost; thank you. Thank you for giving me a good enough reason to get out of bed when I feel like this.

Thank you for being there for me when I’m too grumpy to be around the general public. Thank you for helping me see past my grumpiness and move on with my day.

Thank you for not judging me and my insane bed head when we first meet. Thank you for accepting me and my fluffy haired mess. Thanks for always being warm and comforting when I’m not warm or comforting myself. Thank you for being my friend when no one else would dare to.

Thank you for always making me feel like this after just one cup of your caffeine goodness. Thank you for giving me the energy to make my day as great as it can be.

But a not so thank you for making me feel like a jittery freak after the second cup. A not so thank you for turning on me, making me unable to sit still in class.

Overall, Coffee, you do so much for me and make me feel like myself again after staying up until 3 a.m. crying over The Bachelor. I couldn’t imagine getting through a single morning without you in my mug. Thank you for giving me the energy to get through my day like the busy little collegiate I am.
