It’s that time of year! It’s almost summer break and all you can think about are all of the amazing adventures you want to have. But along with all of the fun and games that come with a super awesome summer vacation comes the planning. If you’re anything like me, you always want to take the role of being in charge and being the planner, and if you’ve ever had to plan any sort of trip, you know how difficult this task may be. Let’s go through the steps you may/may not take before planning the big trip:

1. Regardless of your age, you usually might want to run it by your parents. Let them know the plan! Where you want to go, what you want to do, transportation, accommodations, etc. You never know— maybe they’ll lend you some money!

2. Plan the transportation! Are you driving? Or flying? Either way, it’s gonna cost a lot of money. Depending on where you’re going, whether it’s Myrtle Beach or Siesta Key, you may prefer flying. Try searching ahead of time for cheaper flights! You never know the deals you may find. If you’re driving, plan out a way to split the gas cost and driving time before it’s too late and you’re all bickering back and forth in the car.

3. Accommodations! Are you staying in a hotel? Resort? Condo? Look this stuff up online! There are plenty of websites that provide you with the cheapest rates, along with transportation once you get down to your destination when you’re in need of a way to the beach or just want to go shop!

4. Food! Who is bringing what? Or are you planning on going grocery shopping when you get to your location? Remember to bring a good amount of money if you plan on going to restaurants (which I’m sure you will, because what’s a vacation without going out to eat?)

5. CLOTHES. Come on, we’re girls. We all know this is a huge factor when it comes to, well, almost anything! But vacationing? We need the best and nothing less! Take a quick (or super long) mall trip with your friends and coordinate who’s bringing what, what you can mix and match and share, and find the best deals! There’s nothing wrong with wanting to look awesome for your amazing trip!

6. And the most fun part, of course, is deciding what you want to do when you finally get to your destination! See a show? Go scuba diving? Or just lay out at the beach all day? This is stuff you’ve gotta know ahead of time to plan for a smoother trip.
