Something Different for Valentine’s Day

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Ohio U chapter.

When you ask people what Valentine’s Day is supposed to be all about, most of the time you get “romance or love.” When you ask your friends for advice on what to do on this iconic day, they respond with dinner or something extremely nice. Honestly I don’t know if I have ever heard someone tell me anything other than a something romantic. This Valentine’s Day, I don’t want to dress up all fancy and go eat expensive food. I want to do something memorable and fun! Here are some fun activities you can do for Valentine’s Day.

1. Go to a sporting event. This could be a basketball game, hockey game or really anything. If you can name it, go for it!

2. Go to the movies. This doesn’t have to be a romantic event where you see the latest “Fifty Shades of Grey”, you can see anything your heart desires.

3. Go to a comedy show!

4. If you live near a Dave & Busters, SkyZone or something similar, go do that!

5. Stay in and make some fun drinks and get drunk together.

6. Throw an “I Hate Valentine’s Day” party.

7. Or just throw any party with an insane theme.

8. Have game night.

9. Find some crazy recipe and make it with your significant other.

10.If you are a big Disney fan and Disney on Ice is available near you, go see it!

Romantic based things are not the only options for Valentine’s Day. Spice things up, branch out and find something different to do.
