Meet OUr Two New Editors-In-Chief

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Ohio U chapter.

Her Campus OhioU would like to introduce Carly Maurer and Meredith Broadwater as the new editor-in-chiefs! These lovely ladies work hard running this publication and deserve to be recognized as this week’s campus celebrities!

What is your major?

CM: Broadcast Journalism and Integrated Media.

MB: Strategic Communication.

How long have you been involved with HCOU?

CM: This is my second year.

MB: This is my first year, but second semester!

Why did you decide to join Her Campus?

CM: I decided to join Her Campus because it looked like a great opportunity to write or create video stories about any topic.

MB: I pretty much joined for the same reason Carly did! It looked like a great opportunity, and I’m so glad I decided to join.

What are you most looking forward to as being editor-in-chief?

CM: I’m really excited to work with all the girls and help make Her Campus OhioU a more prominent and recognized student publication here at OU.

MB: I’m excited just to get the word out, like Carly said. I love our chapter and I’m so excited to work with everyone that’s a part of it!

What other school activities or organizations are you involved in?

CM: WOUB, Project C, React to Film and the Community Service Leadership Council.

MB: PRSSA, ImPRessions, I’m an RA in a freshman dorm, and I’m the Strategic Communications Assistant at the Voinovich School.

What is your biggest pet peeve?

CM: When a group of people are walking toward you on the sidewalk and they are rude and don’t move over for you, even though you’re only one person and you’re forced to be crammed to the very edge of the sidewalk. Common courtesy people, move over!

MB: When people scrape their teeth on their silverware! Or chew really loud. Both drive me insane.

What are some of your New Year’s resolutions?

CM: I never make New Year’s resolutions. I considered having my resolution to be to make a resolution, but as most New Years resolutions go, that didn’t happen. I don’t think it’s necessary; if you want to do something different in your life, why wait for a new year? Do it now.

MB: I didn’t really make one this year either. I’m just trying to live my life to the fullest, whether that starts with a new year or not.

Tell us an interesting fact about yourself.

CM: I love the groundhogs on campus! Every time I see one I stop and take a picture of it! They are super cute and fat. It’s adorable when they lie on their bellies and munch on the grass.

MB: I have a pink car and I’m obsessed with it!
