I have to admit I am starting this guide off with a little bit of bias because the CI is my absolute favorite bar in Athens. It just feels like “Cheers” to me. I walk in and it feels so welcoming. The actual bar isn’t that large. The front area is very narrow but it has the infamous ledge. There is nothing better than drinking a pitcher with friends, singing to some Rihanna and swinging your feet to the beat.
The typical crowd usually consists of all upperclassmen and some graduate students. It usually has a pitcher special almost every night, but my personal favorite of their drinks is a SMC liquor drink. It is so delicious that you’ll forget you are even drinking alcohol, which is sometimes dangerous. No one seems to need a recommendation from me to try this bar out though. Judging by the lines on the weekend, it is already pretty popular on Court Street. If for some reason you haven’t visited this bar, it needs to go on your graduation bucket list
