Tassels and Chandeliers: Our Favourite Makeup Looks To Pair With Statement Earrings

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Nottingham chapter.

Statement earrings are being seen everywhere at the moment. From the Fashion Weeks’ designer runways, to the high street shopping centres where you can’t walk into a fashion retailer without being in awe of an impressive selection of decorative jewellery pieces so fancy. The right pair of earrings always add a touch of elegance to every outfit, and paired with the perfect makeup look, the earrings will just enhance your glam even more. Find your favourite pair from our line-up:

Red Tassel Drop Earrings, available at Riverisland.com for £12

Classy Tassels

Tassels earrings are very trendy and it looks like they’re probably the most easy to find accessory on the high street right now. From flowery pastel coloured tassels that give dreamy bohemian vibes to luscious shades of champagne, deep red, and black that are more classic and glamourous. Pair the lighter coloured tassels with a skin tone flattering nude lipstick or gloss for a soft casual look, go full glamour by pairing the darker coloured tassels with a bold femme fatale lipstick like a true red or a burgundy.

Gold Gem Stone Chandelier Earrings, available at Newlook.com for £7.99

Old Hollywood Vogue

Chandelier earrings have been worn by the likes of Marilyn Monroe in Gentleman Prefer Blondes to Beyoncé on most red carpets. These particular ones scream Old Hollywood glamour circa 1930’s, however, they also very closely resemble the type of earrings being seen on vintage Vogue covers. Go full 30’s Vogue-esque and wear these with a striking, rosy blush that’s contoured onto the cheekbones.

Rose Gold Flat Hoop Earrings, available at Topshop.com for £5

Stylish Hoops

Don’t let Regina George tell you that hoops are ‘her thing’. Hoops after a good 5 years are back and trending but this time, they’re as elegant as ever. Instead of ‘white gold’, try a pair of delicate rose gold ones and pair them with a bronze or champagne eyeshadow to glow and glisten like a goddess.
