With the winter months rolling in most people tend to stick to the darker colours like burgundy, deep purple and jade green. That’s why it’s always refreshing when someone opts for a lighter shade such as camel or beige, to brighter up the dark weather and stormy clouds. As the divine Mark-Francis (Made in Chelsea) once quoted “I’m already living in camel. Last winter there was camel everywhere!”

Graduate Elli McWilliam has taken this quote to heart and has styled herself in a gorgeous camel coloured coat from Gap. At £50 the coat is quite expensive but when you are wearing it everyday and it’s a timeless trench coat style, I think we can allow ourselves to splash out a bit. She has styled the coat well with skinny jeans which are also from Gap. Keeping in with the camel theme Ellie has paired the outfit with some super cute dolly shoes from Topshop. In contrast to the camel Ellie has injected a dash of colour with her tartan scarf from T K Maxx. T K Maxx is a godsend if you want to buy really nice pieces without whittling down your student loan. And when a scarf keeps you warm and adds a dash of style to your outfit who can resist?
