Peach Palettes: The World’s Most Desirable Eyeshadow Palettes

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Nottingham chapter.

Peach eyeshadow has always been an option in most eyeshadow palettes but appears to have been ‘that colour that you never use’, until very recently when numerous popular makeup brands came out with new eyeshadow palettes which feature the peach colour as their main focus. These so-called ‘peach palettes’ are full of warm colours such as reddish browns, orangey reds, and rose golds, along with the delicious peach shades. The warm, peachy eye trend is a refreshing change from the cool toned, ashy smoky eye that we’ve all gotten so used to seeing over the past decade or so. The trend combines the sultry drama of a dark smoky eye with the alluring, eye opening qualities of a light wash of colour, therefore capturing the best of both worlds. These peach palettes have very quickly become an obsession on social media and are so popular that they’re almost always out of stock everywhere! So, without any further ado let’s take a look at the most desirable eyeshadow palettes right now.

Too Faced Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette, £39

First up is probably the one we’ve all seen or at least seen and thought it was some sort of cute Japanese snack. This is the ‘Too Faced Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette’. It’s a variation of the brands famous and well-loved Chocolate Bar Palettes. All the palettes in this collection are sweetly scented (which may have a little to do with why so many people claim that they’re addicted to them) so be ready for a burst of divine peaches as soon as you open it. The colours are really yummy and will make your mouth water just looking at them, with delicate, light peaches, dark, orangey peaches, and many essential neutrals. This means that it’s not only perfect for creating the trendy peachy eye but also basic eye looks.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette, £41

The ‘Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette’ is truly dreamy with its pink velvet packaging. The palette is packed with gorgeous, jewel toned colours that are so intense that it looks like the paint palette of an artist. It’s easy to see why this one is so desirable. The pink toned ruby hues really dominate the palette, but don’t let that remind you of the horrendous 90s ‘Barbie’ eyeshadow. These pinks are more burgundy and peach toned which makes them warmer and really very sophisticated, much like many runway makeup looks.

Huda Beauty Textured Shadows Palette – Rose Gold Edition, £56

As you can probably tell from the picture the ‘Huda Beauty Textured Shadows Palette – Rose Gold Edition’ is extremely similar to the Modern Renaissance Palette with an almost identical colour range. The main difference between them is that this one comes with the prettiest foil eyeshadows described as chromatic pressed pearls. FANCY! These can be used to create super glamorous, otherworldly looks. It’s clear the see that this palette is highly versatile which may explain why it’s in such high demand and one of the most sought-after makeup palettes ever! Join the waiting list…

The Royal Peach Palette by Kylie Cosmetics, $45

Finally let’s talk about the eyeshadow…or should I say ‘Kyshadow’ palette that went out of stock as soon as it was released, ‘The Royal Peach Palette by Kylie Cosmetics’. The palette was restocked and, as expected, ran out within a couple of minutes…which is frankly just scary. This is definitely the most expensive out of the peach palettes, especially if you’re getting it shipped to the UK and it’s only available on kyliecosmetics.com. Not to mention it’s still out of stock and we all know what will happen when another restock is announced, the website will be overloaded with customers and probably even crash. Good luck if you want to get your paws on it! But seriously, who wouldn’t? The colours are like a selection of fruit flavoured sweets with a random pop of electric blue, which, I have to say, is what makes it different to the rest of the peach palettes which contain mostly warm colours.

I Heart Makeup Chocolate and Peaches Palette, £7.99, I Heart Makeup Palette, £7.99, Makeup Revolution New-trals Vs. Neutrals Palette, £6.99, Maybelline The Blushed Nudes Palette, £9.99 Although these may be the most desirable eyeshadow palettes in the world right now, the question that will undoubtedly arise (and many may choose to ignore) is ‘are they worth it?’ The Kylie Cosmetics palette is as good as impossible to get and to be honest it isn’t any better than the slightly cheaper peach palettes. The Huda Beauty palette certainly has a lot to offer, however it’s still extremely expensive. Most people tend to go for either the Too Faced palette or the Anastasia Beverly Hills palette, though those are still quite pricey. If you’re unwilling to break your bank or simply want to try the peach trend before you spend a fortune on a high end peach palette then you’ll be happy to know that the drugstore has you covered. Meet the drugstore peach palettes, ‘I Heart Makeup Chocolate and Peaches Palette’ (top left), ‘I Heart Makeup Chocolate Vice Palette’ (top right), Makeup Revolution New-trals Vs. Neutrals Palette (bottom left), and Maybelline The Blushed Nudes Palette (bottom right). The shadows in these palettes are just as pigmented and buttery as the high end ones when being applied with a brush. Swatching them with you finger, however, does not do them justice as the colour appears faint and patchy. With a brush the colours appear solid and intense just like the high end eyeshadows, so definitely use a brush if you try these out. The I Heart Makeup palettes are obvious dupes for the Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette, with almost identical colours and incredibly close pigmentation and texture quality but for less than a quarter of the price! So, who’s tempted by the peach?
