Your Ski Trip Suitcase

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Northwestern chapter.

Northwestern’s 2013 Ski Trip is finally here! But while you’re studying for finals this week, preparing outfits for the slopes is probably the last thing on your mind. Here are some ideas to make packing your ski trip suitcase easy and efficient!

·      Leggings are a staple for ski season, both on the snow and off. Save space by bringing a thick, spandex pair to wear under your ski pants during the day and to tuck into boots for a night out.

·      Speaking of boots, throw in a warm pair of Uggs, Hunters, or any riding boots to be practical and fashionable strolling downtown in the snow.

·      When you turn in after a long day of skiing or boarding though, fashion won’t be a priority. You’ll want to get your toes warm and toasty. Pack a pair of sneakers or comfy shoes to change into after taking off your ski boots.

·      You’ll obviously need a winter jacket as a shell, but the layers underneath are just as important. Bring a fleece or sweatshirt to pile on because powder is fun but it’s also freezing.

·      Accessories like scarves, earmuffs and gloves are also a must. They seem so simple, yet they often get forgotten when packing. Ski trip is a perfect time to debut your new infinity scarf!

·      While the majority of your suitcase is winter clothes, you’ll want to bring a swim suit, too. Nothing feels better than a dip in the hot tub after a day of shredding.

·      And don’t forget about the parties! You’ll want to bring your tackiest cardigan for the Ugly Sweater Party, your favorite outfit for the Chingy concert and an all-white ensemble for the White-Out!

Get set for Keystone, ‘Cats!
