For Fall, I compiled a short list of Fall DIY’s to add some (pumpkin) spice to your life as the days get shorter!

Four Ingredient Oatmeal BItes

  • 1 ½ cups gluten free rolled oats (can sub for oat bran, quick oats or oat flour, however see notes)

  • ½  cup smooth almond butter (can sub for any nut butter, like peanut butter)

  • ½ cup agave syrup (or any sticker sweetener like honey)

  • chocolate chips or dried fruits like cranberries or blueberries

Instructions:

  • Spray a large plate with anti-stick spray or wax paper and set aside.
  • In a large bowl, add the oats.
  • In a microwave safe bowl (or stovetop if you have one,) melt the almond butter or substitute with the agave syrup until combined.
  • Pour the liquid mixture into the dry and mix well with a spoon.
  • Using your hands, form into small balls and place on the lined plate. Press each ball into a cookie shape and if desired, top with chocolate chips or fruit etc and then refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up.

It’s been a few weeks into school and we have all gotten a bit sick of the dining hall food. This fun, no-bake, DIY snack is one that you can easily make in your dorm room. These bites can last up to five days in room temperature and a few weeks in the microwave. Nut butters have protein that will keep you full so these make a great snack on the way to the gym or between classes!

Thankfulness Wreath

  • Find a premade wreath at a dollar or craft store or make your own.

  • Decorate it how you want to- cutting out fall leaves or with ribbon would look awesome!

  • Attach a small post it pad to the bottom of the wreath with some thread.

  • Attach the wreath to your door.

  • Have people write what they are thankful for on the sticky notes and have them attach them to the wreath.

As the school year starts ramping up with tests and obligations, it can be easy to get stressed and overwhelmed. One way to combat this is through thinking about people you appreciate in your life. Now every time you walk through the door you will see inspiring notes of things to be thankful for!

DIY Costume Idea!- Crocs!

  • Buy a t-shirt in the color of crocs.

  • Cut out circular holes in the shirt to resemble.

  • Cut the croc in half and attach elastic to the holes in the sides of the croc and wrap it around your head like a headband.

  • Strike a pose like the confident lady you are!

Want to relive the horrors of the style of your early adolescence? Do you have some extra plastic shoes lying around? Why not be a croc?

Hopefully these easy DIY’s will spice up your fall with some creativity and easy fun!

Hi! I am a social policy major from San Francisco, California. Some of my favorites things to do are thrift shopping, exploring museums, and drinking tea. My role models are 90's TV heroines, and I love foggy days. I am super excited to be writing for HerCampus!
