With the holidays fast approaching and all too many people on your list, it can often become quite the challenge to repeatedly hand over your credit card. If you are looking to spread Christmas cheer without being buried under dues, here are some great DIY ideas that are simple, easy and, most importantly, cheap!

1. I have yet to meet anyone who doesn’t enjoy a nice, fresh batch of cookies, cupcakes or muffins and with this fun way to gift them you can make a few dozen baked goods and cause a few dozen smiles!

2. If you have a great knack for drawing a handmade ornament it is always a great gift option. Even it you aren’t a Picasso style artist, the thought will always be there and if you are really terrible so will the laughs.

3. If you’re like me and love to document memories then you will have a plethora of images on your computer or camera. Why not put those pictures to work as something besides file space, blow them up and display in many different ways? If you have a lot you want to display and can’t seem to find a frame with 20 plus spots, dry this fun idea that allows you to change your mind as many times as you want!=

4. Another easy, yet functional gift would be a personalized mug. Whether they drink coffee, tea, hot chocolate or milk, they can have it in a mug and would love having one unique to their style. You can write on it, make cool geometric patterns or even get a picture printed if you are okay with spending a bit more.

5. Finally, canvas can sometimes be the best way to express oneself. If you have a blank space to work with, you can personalize it to mean something special for a friend, child, parent or partner. The skies the limit with this craft but this is always a favorite!
