10 Things About Boston That Surprised Me

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Northeastern chapter.
  1. All the jaywalkers – especially at Huntington.

To go or not to go? That is the question.

  1. The rapid drop in temperature.

Where is fall? From where I come from, this temperature is basically winter.

  1. The stores that lead underground.

Boston, haven’t you heard of earthquakes? Oh wait…

  1. How old the T is.

I can’t zone out because I have to pay attention and listen to what the next stop is.

  1. Or better yet, how small and slow some of the subway cars are.

My grandma is younger AND she can run faster than you…

  1. How fit most people are.

Especially those who run past me as I enter Wendy’s on Mass Ave.

  1. The amount of crazy – I mean passionate – sports fans.

Baseball, football, and hockey… You name it.

  1. No sales tax on apparel!

Cheaper when partnered with student discounts. That is, until you spend $175 on one item.

  1. How clean the tap water is.

I still use a Brita though.

  1. How beautiful the city is.

Whether it’s the good or the bad, I’m glad I chose the right place to attend university.

11. Bonus:

Nothing surprised me more than the baby head in front of MFA, though…
