DIY: Bows! Bows! Bows!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at NCSU chapter.

Want to spice up your shoes, purse, wardrobe anything? Feel like you need to revamp your style but don’t know how? An easy and fashionable DIY project that saves you money is to just add bows! Bows are currently in style and go with anything!

All you need:

  • Glue: hot glue gun works best but craft glue or any other glue besides stick is fine!
  • RIBBONS OR BOWS: pre made bows or rolls from the craft store will do
  • Purse, shoes, shirts, shoes, purse, shirts, cellphone case, jeans, socks, laptop, wallet, headband, necklace, bracelet, anything!

This is seriously one of the easiest DIY projects!
1. Choose different colored ribbons and/ or bows. What kind of ribbon and bow you choose depends on preference and what you think matches best.
2. If you buy ribbon instead of a premade bow, just tie the ribbon like you’re tying your shoe.

3. Grab whatever you want to add the bow to and secure the bow with glue by putting the glue in the center of the bow and then add a dab of glue in the corners of the loop and press onto object.
4. You can either have the loose ends hanging or glue them down also.
5. Let the ribbon dry for a few hours.
Alternative: IF YOU DON’T WANT TO USE GLUE: just use your ribbon to tie the bow to anything! Tie it around your waist, tie is around your purse handle, make a quick headband, make a cute bowtie collar!
6. Voilà! You just updated your wardrobe and/or accessory!

Bows can literally be added to anything to add that extra spice to an outfit or item. Have fun, decorate! Send us your pictures of your DIY project! Tweet us: @HerCampusNCSU #DIYBOWS
