10 Fun And Cheap Things To Do Over Spring Break

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Miami (OH) chapter.

If you’re not spending spring break on a beach with your toes in the sand, don’t be too bummed out. There are still plenty of fun (and cost effective!) things to do that will make your spring break worthwhile.

  1. De-Stress

Chances are you just finished midterms and need a break from the craze of second semester. Take advantage of your free time and relax, breathe, and remember that you’re super close to summer!

2. Take a Mini Road Trip

So this might sound lame, but get in the car with your friends with no final destination in mind and see where the road takes you. You don’t have to go far; drive for a couple of hours and see where you end up! Try a local restaurant in a town you’ve never been to, or visit a new shop. You never know what you’ll find.

3. Go Hiking

Many states have several nature resorts and hiking trails. Pack a picnic lunch with your friends and take advantage of the warmer weather!

4. Go See Your Friends Who Aren’t on Spring Break

You probably have some friends in school who aren’t on break at the same time as you. Go visit them at their school and plan a fun night out!

5. Spend Time With Family

Eat a homemade meal with your family again, or call your grandma and take her to lunch. It is hard to stay connected with family while you’re in school, so take advantage of the free time you have and spend some time with them.

6. Look Up “Fun Things To Do In (Your State)

You’d be surprised at all the fun things your state has to offer. There is probably a lot you don’t know about!

7. Spa Day

Get your girls together and get your nails done, get facials, or massages. Treat yourselves! You deserve it after the long semester.

8. Learn To Cook Something New

So this also might sound lame, but if you get your friends together and try to cook together, it can be really fun! Look up fun recipes on Pinterest. The options are endless.

9. Have a Photoshoot With Your Friends

Go around town and take cute, unique pictures with each other. You can even get crafty and put them in a collage frame.

10. Catch Up On Sleep

Can college students ever get enough of this? Make sure you go back to school well-rested and de-stressed. And remember, summer is on the way.
