April 15, 2013 is a date that many of us will never forget. Three lives were lost and many others were seriously injured in a senseless act of terror at the Boston Marathon finish line. One of those lives being eight year old, Martin Richard.
Martin Richard, a Dorchester native, was known to be an avid hockey fan. On Saturday, countless hockey teams and organizations in the Boston area (including Merrimack), contributed to the Team 8 Fundraiser. This fundraiser was a hockey tournament which consisted of more than 90 players coming together to honor Martin’s life, each player donating $100 to MR8 (Martin Richard’s foundation).
Merrimack Hockey donated a personalized team jersey to the tournament with the number 8 on the back as well as his last name.
