Great Products for Apple Fans!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Mercer chapter.

Most tech-geeks know that Apple doesn’t participate in the highly anticipated annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES). However, that doesn’t stop other companies from showing off their accessories for Apple products. Here are a few new Apple-combatable accessories that were showcased at this year’s CES. In this article, I will talk about four great Apple-compatible products that will please Apple iOS fans.

1)      Schlage Sense System – This product will take your device’s security to the next level. It replaces conventional lock-and-key systems with a smart lock linked to an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch and protected with end-to-end encryption. The lock can also be controlled using Siri, Apple’s voice assistant.

2)      iblazr LED Flash – Let’s face it: iPhones take great pictures. We use our iPhones to take pictures and hardly use hand-held cameras anymore. Now, this new accessory will enhance iPhone and iPad photography. The iblazr LED Flash is an enhanced lighting system. This tiny gadget connects to your mobile device through the audio jack and works best in low-light conditions. It contains its own inbuilt battery, which is enough for over 500 flashes per charge.

3)      AT&T Modio – This is a case for the iPad Air and iPad mini. The Modio protects your gadget, but also acts as a stand, adds 4G LTE to Wi-Fi only models, and includes a slot to increase your iPad’s storage with a microSD card. Because no Apple iOS device comes with a microSD card, this case allows Apple users to extend the storage capacity on their devices. According to the AT&T, the Modio can act as a 4G hotspot for up to 10 hours on a single charge.

4)      Parrot RNB 6 – CarPlay is a feature available in a few cars already on the market, and will be available for most cars as an additional package a customer can choose when buying a new vehicle. CarPlay includes an Apple interface that connects to iPhone via Bluetooth and gives you access to the navigation system, hands-free calls, driver assistance, messages, phone calls, access to the music player, Siri, and other iPhone features made “car-friendly.” Parrot RNB 6 is an off-market CarPlay system you can install in cars that currently don’t have CarPlay. This is great because most people aren’t going to buy new cars just for Apple’s CarPlay system.

These are just four products announced for Apple devices that I thought were interesting, but you can find the list of new products from the CES here at cnet.com/ces. It’s interesting how even though Apple doesn’t participate in CES, it still steals headlines for the plethora of accessories manufacturers show off for their devices!
