Whar You’ll Miss Most About Your Roomie Over Summer Break

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Maryland chapter.

It’s always exciting to return home for the summer after a long semester. But after a little while, you’ll start to miss your college home and your roomies for these reasons:

You’ll hate being lonely.

You’ll miss always having someone to hang out with. Because at school, you’re never ACTUALLY home alone- there’s always someone in the room right next to you. Even after all of those times throughout the semester when you were studying or sleeping and your roomie was being way too loud, you’ll miss having someone around because being home alone with Netflix for the summer will eventually get boring.

You’ll even miss her flaws!

You might think you’re crazy for missing those times that you had to clean up after your roommate…but after a few weeks home with your parents you’ll realize anything is better than their chores and being told what to do! You’ll also miss all of those dumb little arguments that you had with your roomies because they’re better than the arguments you’ll have with your parents while you’re at home.

You’ll miss stealing her clothes.

At home, you only have one closet to choose clothes from and no one to help you decide what looks best. When you’re trying to decide on an outfit and aren’t feeling anything in your closet, you’ll definitely miss being able to steal a cute outfit from one of your roommates!

You’ll miss going out with your roomie.

Every college student misses college town parties while they’re at home over break. Roommates are always down for one of those fun nights where you all get ready together with music blasting throughout the house. And you’ll miss having someone to wake up to and eat breakfast with while laughing over everything that happened the night before.

You’ll simply miss seeing her every day.

She is always there to cheer you up and make your day better. No matter how much you love your hometown, your roomie and home at UMD will always be a very special home in your heart, too.
