This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Maryland chapter.

As March 20th approaches and the temperature starts to rise, it’s time to get rid of those chunky sweaters and start bringing out the spring attire. Winter is fading fast and many are finding themselves wondering how to deal with this fluctuating weather. Lucky for you and with the help of Lucky magazine and Refinery29, here are some tips on things to wear as you transition from winter to spring.

Out with the bold and in with the new. Winter was all about bold, heavy knit scarves in order to keep you warm. Now that the weather is changing, the fabric and print on your scarf can, too. Something especially fun about these spring scarves is that you can change up the patterns and colors in order to lighten up any outfit. Bright colors and Aztec patterns are especially hip for spring so even if it is a colder day, wear a bright scarf with a darker hued outfit. As the weather starts to get warmer though, wear this type of scarf with a sundress and denim jacket.

Long sleeve dresses

It may be a bit too cold to be wearing mini tank top dresses, but that doesn’t mean mini dresses are completely out of the picture. Long sleeve dresses are the perfect medium because you get to dress up a little without being too cold. This style has been quite popular recently so it is simple to find long sleeve dresses in a variety of colors and patterns.  From Macy’s to Forever21 to Nordstrom, long sleeve dresses fit for you can be found pretty much anywhere.

White blazer

Winter whites are not anything new to fashionistas everywhere, but something people may not realize is that white blazers can be perfect for that transition into spring as well. For the last few days of winter, it goes well with a peplum top and pants. As the weather starts to warm up, however, pair it with a maxi dress or mini skirt for a comfortable and polished look. The great thing about blazers is that they can either come in light or heavy materials so finding one that can fit both seasons is fairly simple.

Sheer button-up top

Sheer tops are especially fantastic for this time of year because they go with pretty much everything. Jean shorts, leather pants, a skirt, a blazer, you name it and it probably works. For the mean time, wear this button-up top under a blazer or leather jacket with jeans and a statement necklace. As it starts to get warmer, try it with some high-waisted shorts and booties. You will be with the season while being comfortable even if it’s still a little chilly outside.

The winter to spring transition is always a tricky one especially here in Maryland. As I’m sure you’ve noticed over the past few weeks, it most certainly has gone to 30 to 60 degrees in 3.5. You may never know what’s appropriate to wear with the changing weather, but luckily with these few key items you’ll have outfits galore for the next few weeks of uncertain temperatures.
