Campus Cutie: Erik Nilsson

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Marist chapter.

Year: Sophomore

Major/Minor: Business

Hometown: New Hartford, Connecticut

HC: What are three words you’d use to describe yourself? Friendly, hardworking, & extroverted. I love getting to know new people and making new friends. I will always try to start up a conversation with people that I meet.  I also try my hardest to get all my work done and do the best job that I can do.

HC: Hobbies? I like to sing, I’m not sure how good I am but I try my best to hit the right notes. I also like to snowboard during the winter and go on runs when it’s nice out.

HC: Most awkward situation in the past year? On my first day at Marist I passed out during my 8 a.m. class. I felt lightheaded and walked out of the room, and the next thing I knew a janitor was picking me up off the floor. I had to try to explain to all the professors circled around me that I was fine and that I just really wanted to go back to class. Later, I had to go explain to my philosophy professor why I had casually run out and hadn’t come back.

HC: Favorite movie? Cloud Atlas. It’s so complex and multilayered; I’ve seen it three times and I’m pretty sure I still don’t understand everything that happens.

HC: Dream vacation? I really want to vacation in Greece. The pictures I have seen of the coastlines look fantastic, and it would be awesome to see all of the historical architecture in Athens.

HC: Best compliment you’ve ever gotten? I was giving a campus tour a couple of weeks ago and at the end of it one of the mothers grabbed my hand and said, “You’re going to go places.”
