21 First World Problems at Loyola

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at LUC chapter.

First of all, I go to school at Loyola and live in the most wonderful city in the country. So really, I shouldn’t be experiencing any “first world problems” — little things that high-maintenance people like me experience on the daily that make the world feel like it is going to end. Take a look and see what “I can’t even” deal with!

1. Engrained Café isn’t open on the weekend.

2. When the line for the elevator in Mundelein is out the door.

3. When the line for “Create Your Own Pizza or Pasta” in de Nobili is too long.

4. When the AC is turned off for the year and you’re “literally dying” in your room that is 80+ degrees.

5. When the printer in your residence hall breaks so you have to go to another building close by.

6. You’re running low on dining dollars and Rambler Bucks.

7. The ice cream machine in de Nobili has been broken for weeks.

8. The intercampus shuttle is running late.

9. Your laptop charging cord doesn’t reach the outlet.

10. Wi-fi goes out or is extremely slow.

11. All the washing machines/dryers are taken.

12. You didn’t make it onto “Loyola Snaps.”

13. The cleaning lady is in your bathroom, so you have to use another one down the hall.

14. Your enrollment appointment is at one of the latest possible times.

15. Your professor won’t curve.

16. Bleecker Street doesn’t completely mix the ingredients in your iced chai tea latte.

17. They can’t accept Rambler Bucks as payment.

18. You can’t finish your episode on Netflix before your next class.

19. The gates in the IC are broken, so your ID has to manually be checked.

20. That weird transition period in the dining halls where they are only serving pizza.

21. And finally… Chipotle is one block off-campus.

If any of these unfortunate events resonate with you, I’m sorry. I feel you. But just remember how lucky you are to be here at Loyola and at the end of the day, know that there are endless things that we love about our campus and our city! GO RAMBLERS!
