April is here, which means baseball is back! One of my favorite parts about living in LA has to be going to see the reigning National League Championship Series winners, the Los Angeles Dodgers play. Growing up going to Dodger games I’ve gathered some advice that makes life a little easier come game day.

Make sure to pay for parking online.

Buying a parking pass online is cheaper than paying for parking once you arrive at the park.

Speaking of parking, when entering the stadium, enter the lane moving the fastest.

While the lanes are marked with labels such as “Bus” or “Pre-Paid”, people at every booth are willing to help you, regardless of the sign.

Bring sunscreen (or a jacket!)

If you’re attending a day game, make sure to bring sunglasses, a hat, and plenty of sunscreen because Southern California is known for its scorching temperatures. On the flip side, if you’re attending a night game makes sure to bring a jacket and maybe even a blanket because the stadium is known to cool down to the mid-60’s come evening.

Get there early.

Being early is just good life advice, but getting to the stadium early ensures that you find your seats, have time to walk around and grab food before the game starts, and you might even catch batting practice which starts a full two hours before game time. While they say that true Angelenos arrive during the third inning, if you’re paying to watch one of the best teams in baseball wouldn’t you rather enjoy the whole game?  Additionally, if you’re going to the game straight from LMU, the perfect time to leave for a night game is 4:15, which gets you there at about 5:45, a full hour and a half before game time.

Brush up on Dodger history.

The third oldest ballpark in MLB history, Dodger Stadium has seen a few things Knowing some Dodger tidbits always makes for some great conversation starters and in my opinion, helps me enjoy the experience win or lose.

Have fun!!

Remember to take adorable pictures, take in the game, and as always, THINK BLUE!
