It’s the 1st of December next week and the holiday season is fast approaching. It’s a time whereby it becomes well and truly acceptable to celebrate the upcoming festivities and enjoy all things Christmas.

The beauty and lifestyle world have taken over the traditional chocolate calendars in replacement of, well, all things beauty and lifestyle. With high-end brands starting the trend a few years back, the high streets have now come on board and they appear to be everywhere.

Here are some of the best picks to inspire you for something a little different to usual.

The high-end beauty brands offer some very desirable advent calendars; however, they do come with a heavy price tag averaging well over £100.

L’Occitane’s advent calendar however offers a more reasonable price for a high end brand product. Their £42 advent calendar offers all 24 doors. It is full of mini luxury goodies and even includes my favourite product of all time – the Almond Shower Oil.

Benefit have also hit the sweet spot this year with their 12 door advent calendar, for the 12 days of Christmas, so not only is it great value for money at £34.50, but it can also double up as a great Christmas present! It includes all of their best sellers, including their infamous ‘they’re real!’ mascara, the ‘hoola’ bronzer and ‘the POREfessional’ primer.

For those who want to pamper, Sanctuary Spa – the cult favourite for presents at Christmas time – have put together a 24-piece advent calendar this year with everything you could possibly imagine to pamper yourself perfect. The smell of their products is unbeatable too. It’s only £25, meaning each product is a little over £1, so it’s great for those on a smaller budget.

The beard trend is still going and The Bearded Man Company  have come up with a great calendar gift for those bearded men in your life. At £30 (and free delivery!)  they offer 24 individually scented beard oils to keep any beard in check!

One of the best buys this Christmas for a beauty-orientated advent calendar is the Marks and Spencer’s Beauty Advent Calendar. Although now sold out online, it is still available in-store. At £35, the Calendar is one of the only to give you 25 doors, including one for Christmas Day with a selection from various high end brands: some well-known and others not so much. It varies from perfume to nail varnish to face creams and a make-up brush; it gives you the perfect opportunity to test out some luxury products without having to buy the full product. The only downfall with this product is that it’s on the costly side at £35, however, if you’re planning to do some of your Christmas shopping at M&S this year, there’s now an excuse to treat yourself at the same time!
