Campus Celeb: Jess Bush

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Le Moyne chapter.

Jessica (Jess) Bush is the Production Manager here at Le Moyne for the Theatre Department of the Performing Arts Center. A strong individual, Jess is a person interested in making change and being productive within the arts and using it to expand into different ventures. She plans to start a program called ASTEP which stands for Artists Striving to End Poverty. It will be a not for profit program that focuses on using all forms of art, visual art, theatre, music and dance, to help underexposed youth to open their imagination. She got the idea after spending the past summer with an ASTEP program in South Dade, Florida. She watched how influential and powerful this program was and started planning and brainstorming with another student, Vinny Randazzo, on how to start such a program in Syracuse. ASTEP will officially kick off Spring 2014 and is open to ANYONE willing to teach and learn from this experience. They will be working with kids of all ages so be prepared. If you want to be a part of it, there are more details to come within the upcoming months but you could also email her via Le Moyne student email with any other questions you may have. It’s sure to be great for everyone involved.

“I want everyone involved to see the power of art. Art can change people. I want everyone to know that they are not alone, and the arts is one of the best ways to create a community.
