“She believed she could, so she did” is a quote that’s been popping up a lot lately. It applies particularly well to this week’s Campus Cutie. Shane Wiley is a girl ready to make her mark on the world. As a junior, she’s experienced the adventure of travel through study abroad and become entwined in the happenings of Lasell through her work with the Blue Key Society staff in the Admissions Office while focusing her career path in management with a minor in law and business.

Leaving to travel to another place can be nerve racking. Hopping on a plane to study on the other side of the world? More than terrifying. But it didn’t stop her from pushing outside her comfort zone to move her life forward. When asked about her time in Australia, she responded with truth and passion. “Australia showed me a new  sense of independence, I realized how much of the world I haven’t seen and it gave me the ambition to see more of it.” With this thought in mind, Shane continues to center her thoughts seeing the world. Whether it’s in the middle of a different culture or country, or simply seeing the world in someone else’s view.

When asked her ideal date, the answer was immediate “Chipotle over everything”. Girl likes her burritos, single gents, take note.

She is the friend to lean on, who will be there to give support and some much needed love to whoever may be in need. And she asks little to nothing in return. Her laid back nature draws people in like bees to honey, making it no surprise that she’s surrounded by a wide variety of friends who love her more than words. She is one of Lasell’s unsung heroes.

Shane Wiley, remember the name, remember the face. She’ll always remember yours.
