AHS Scares and Surprises

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Lasell chapter.

Killer clowns, a woman with three breasts, a man with lobster hands, and the world’s smallest woman all come together in this season of American Horror Story. With three episodes under this season’s belt, the surprises and screams just keep coming and the directors keep amazing audiences.

The plot this season follows a band of circus freaks as they live day to day. Rejected by society, they live on the fringes of town, funded by a mother whose son has a great interest in freak shows where he thinks he belongs. Add in the killer clown and this makes a nightmare come to life.

The writers consistently have viewers on the edge of their seats, guessing through every episode. The killer clown makes the show terrifying, bringing many people’s fear to life. They did not hold back this season and it is making for one nail biting show. The make up is done so seamlessly, especially Pepper and the Three Breasted Woman. Sarah Paulson perfectly plays two different personalities attached to the same body, switching back and forth in scenes, a feat not easily done.

After waiting three episodes to write this review, this season has gone above and beyond all expectations. While none of the previous seasons have been too scary, this season is currently terrifying and will only get scarier. AHS has surpassed themselves in every aspect of the former seasons. And viewers are looking forward to more.
