President
What does this role entail?
Organising and coming up with ideas for events along with the rest of the exec, sourcing wine for the events, marketing the society, being interviewed
How did you think of the idea of starting a wine society?
My parents and grandparents have always been into wine and wine tasting, so naturally I picked that up from them. Over the summer I realized that one of the few things Lancaster was lacking was a society for like-minded people; some of the people in my house are interested in wine too so I spoke to them and we agreed to do it.
What is your favorite type of wine?
That’s a tough one. I do enjoy a well-aged Chateauneuf-du-Pape, but having different wines for different occasions is important.
What do you have planned for the society this year?
We’ve got plans for informal events where people drink some nice wines and chat, more formal tasting events lead by professionals, and hopefully something different like an end-of-year meal or similar. If anyone has any ideas or wants to do anything specific, please get in touch!
