It seems to be a recurring theme that whenever my sister comes to visit we have to discover somewhere different to eat.
I was unsure where to go out for brunch in Lancaster, as I hadn’t ever been before, but one Google search later resulted in the recommendation of The Borough.
Located centrally on Dalton Square, The Borough looks bright and cosy from outside, kitted out with its festive decorations.

The brunch menu, served from 8:00am until 11:30am, had a good variety of choice, from a traditional cooked breakfast, to vegetarian options and pancakes.
We were pleasantly surprised by the price of the menu, the average brunch item was priced at just £5.95, and considering this includes unlimited tea and coffee, it is undoubtedly brilliant value for money.
My sister ordered the Eggs Benedict, a toasted muffin served with a poached egg and the classic hollandaise sauce, but this was unusually accompanied by prosciutto.
I ordered the Eggs Florentine, which consisted of the same components, but served on a bed of wilted spinach instead of the prosciutto.
The dishes were daintily presented and we both particularly enjoyed the hollandaise sauce which can often be unpalatable.
I would definitely recommend visiting The Borough, especially for brunch as I think it is typically overlooked as something to go out and have!
