Things to Do in April

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at La Verne chapter.

The month of April brings showers, flowers and musical power to the Los Angeles county. Even though April is usually a stressful time for college students, to many great things go on around this time for us to even remember what we are stressing about. The spring season is beautiful for our city and brings out great events throughout the April calendar. Here are my top five things to mark off on your calendar for the month of April.

  1. Rooftop Cinema Club

Date: Now – May 31, 2017

Movies, actors and Hollywood..Oh My! Our Tinsel town is known for out bright lights and big city atmosphere. Experiencing it though is a way better experience, the best way to do so is visit  the Rooftop Cinema Club. The setting is on the Rooftop of a Hollywood Building with over fifty lawn chairs, a projector, headphones, blankets and popcorn and a drink of your choice. The rooftop film features films of all era including Back to the Future, Goodfellas and Moonlight. In order to experience this hidden LA Gem, you have to buy your tickets ahead of time through their website.

2.  Coachella

Though Queen B will not be making an appearance, our hopes are revived through Lady GaGa. California’s biggest music festival is slowly creeping upon up. Get ready for the bohemian styles and crazy snapchats from this crazy event. I always said that every Californian should experience Coachella once. Why not this one? Offering great sets, food and partying all weekend long, Coachella is forsure set to raise the bar this year.

4. Easter Egg Hunts

Dates: Varies

Easter is slowly approaching. Here Here for the great food, the time with your family and the other accessories to this great holiday. My personal favorite thing about the holiday is a good ol Easter Egg Hunt. Offered at varied locations including churches, homes, parks and etc., hunts are the best activities for the season. There are also cool prizes for these scavenger hunts including candy, gift cards and money.

5. Easter Festival

Dates: April 16, 2017

Buy a ticket to participate in EasterFest, which includes egg hunts, bounce houses, facepainting, arts and crafts, games, food, drinks, popcorn, and music at Grand Hope Park. The festival is fun for both families and friends. It also offers great raffles and contest.
