LUSH: Which products are actually luscious?

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Kent State chapter.

I am obsessed with LUSH. Here are some of the products that I have used over the years, some of them I love and some not so much.  All of these products from LUSH are one hundred percent vegetarian, handmade, against animal testing and the freshest cosmetics on the market.

1. From Dusk ‘Til Dawn Massage Bar

This massage bar has a great citrusy smell that is warm and bright. With orange oil and Sicilian lemon it makes for delicious citrus cocktail. The shape is great for when you have tense shoulders I just rub the pointed end in all my knots and it feels like a message session without the hassle.

2. Skin Drink Facial Moisturizer

I have super dry skin, so it is hard to find products that work for me. This is a great moisturizer. Some people think the smell is odd, but I think the smells great.  It has sesame oil, rose petal extract, fresh avocado and calming aloe vera. It is really easy to use; the only complaint that I have is that the container is too small for the amoun I use it.

3. Sea Spray Hair Mist

I wasn’t that impressed with this product. It isn’t bad, but I feel like it doesn’t do anything for my hair. I us this spray after I curl my hair. I scrunch it a little and I feel like it puts a little more volume in it, but it doesn’t last.

4. Big Shampoo

My hair gets really greasy, especially on the roots. So, the fact that this shampoo has salt in it de-greases my hair and removes the dirt without striping my hair because it’s balanced out with coconut oil. It also adds some volume to my hair after it dries. Plus it smells like grapes and it is by far my favorite smelling LUSH product.

5. Don’t Look At Me Mask

This mask is my favorite LUSH product.  It brightens, exfoliates and doesn’t leave my face feeling dry afterwards.  It smells great and makes a noticeable difference in complection. My face feels baby soft too. I Highly recommend it; I use it about once a week and all LUSH masks need to be refrigerated.

6. Mask Of Magnaminty

This mask has a minty smell and reminds me of toothpaste. Honestly, this mask has some really good benefits: it made my skin feel smooth and refreshed afterwards and while the mask is on it feels tingly. Some cons would be that it is messy and if used too much it can dry out your skin.

7. Brazened Honey

Not gonna lie, this mask smells weird. It has a hippy vibe to it and I’m not a big fan. Along with that, I really felt as much I used this mask that it really didn’t make a difference in my overall complexion and it actually gave me a pretty bad rash.  My skin was left red, irritated and bumpy.

8.  Sex Bomb

This is my favorite bath bomb of all time because it smells so good and is super fun. Pink is my favorite color, so I may have a bias opinion, but I think this bath bomb produces the prettiest color and has swirls of purple in it. I also love the dissolving rose petals, which made the whole experience luxurious and sexy.

9.  Whoosh shower jelly

I had to get this because it was so weird and different. It really does smell good and lathers well, but it is just so hard to use.  It constantly slips out of my hand and it fell apart after a couple times of use. However, it is super fun to use and had me in a good mood all day after the first time I used it.

10.  Bling toothy tabs

This was so interesting to use, I really had no idea what to expect. So, basically they are little tabs that you chew in your mouth and then you brush your teeth after the tab in crushed up in your moth. The flavor tastes so bad and got worse while I chewed it. It kind of reminded me of a Flintstones vitamin. The cool thing is that it is covered in edible gold.
