The Top 7 Festival Trends for 2016

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at JMU chapter.

With festival season just around the corner, you may be reaching for your high-waisted shorts and flower headbands like there’s no tomorrow. But wait—those items are so last year. Lucky for y’all, Polyvore pulled new data on the top-searched fashion trends to prep for Coachella, Stagecoach and Governors Ball. Read on for your best look yet:

1. Suede Fringe Vest

A fringe vest will easily spice up any crop top you own! Pair it with jean shorts for a classic look.

2. Fringe Ankle Booties

If you’re worried about your toes getting stepped on in sandals, booties are a great option! Just be careful with the heel you choose—you don’t want them to get in the way of your dance moves!

3. Suede Fringe Handbag

You’re definitely going to need a bag for all your festival essentials (water, lip gloss, etc.), so why not tote them in fashion? This fringe handbag will look great with any outfit!

4. Overall Shorts

Rather than simple high-waisted shorts, try wearing overall shorts! You’ll look super cute while staying super comfy. What could be better?

5. Boyfriend Denim Shorts

If overalls aren’t your thing (or you want to be able to go to the bathroom more easily!), denim boyfriend shorts are your best bet. They’re cute, comfy and totally breathable!

6. Baseball Hat

You heard it here first—sun hats are so last festival season. Stay (and look!) cool in a unique baseball hat this year.

7. Rose Gold Sunglasses

Trade in your classic aviators for this rose gold style. They look super summery and super unique!

What do you plan on wearing this festival season, collegiettes?
