Let’s Get to Know Marshall!

KK: Kate Upton or JLaw?

MP: Oh, Jennifer Lawrence for sure. She seems much more personable and like a really cool person to have a conversation with in general.

KK: Do you have any siblings?

MP: Yes, one older sister, Jessica.

KK: Can you tell us about a really bad date experience you’ve had?

MP: Well, it’s not a specific date, but in general when a girl shows visible discomfort. It’s frustrating especially when she’s not comfortable enough to eat in front of me when we’re out to lunch or dinner.

KK: Where would you go for your dream vacation?

MP: Well there are two. First, I would love to go to Iceland to see the Northern Lights. But I also really want to go to Cambodia to see Angkor Wat—the largest religious monument in the world. **SO COOL!**

KK: Well with those awesome dream destinations, what is your summer looking like?

MP: First take a deep breath and enjoy graduation. I’d also really like to make it to the Sierra Leone and experience the tranquility from its natural beauty. It’s not 100%, but it’s been in the works for a while now so hopefully it comes together!

KK: What’s a movie that always makes you choke up?

MP: Oh, Bambi. Every time. It’s so sad!

KK: Top item on your JMU bucket list before you graduate?

MP: I’ve already streaked the quad—everyone should do that. You’ll be applauded. But the underground tunnels are definitely something I want to find before I leave. There’s also an abandoned children’s psych ward in Staunton and it’s supposedly haunted. It’s really hard to get in, but I think it would totally be worth the risk.

KK: What’s something that would surprise people, or wouldn’t guess just by looking at you?

MP: When I was a freshman in high school I was in a rap group with a group of my friends. It was called Shire Mob and we basically dropped everything school related for a good three months. Sometimes you just have to follow your passions, no matter how short lived they may be.

There you have it, a genuine guy who’s also a bit of a world traveler. Don’t be shy when you see him walking around campus, say hi!

Have you ever thought "Am I the only one who..."? I'm sure you have, and I promise you're not. Live the life you love. I don't take things too seriously, because life is too short to be so obsessed with what everyone thinks of me. I became a writer so I could say what everyone else is thinking. I believe that treating others the way you want to be treated means you will never have to regret a decision you make. I make mistakes, but that's what makes great articles!
