10 Things Only a Busy Person Would Understand

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at JMU chapter.

1. Your planner is life.

Like a team’s play book, there is no way you could execute a busy schedule without a game plan.  Your planner houses everything you need to keep you sane and your life on track.

2. You multitask like a pro.

Time is of the essence when you have a packed schedule. You often find yourself eating while walking to your next meeting or have multiple tabs open on your laptop to complete multiple tasks.

3. You have no social life, but you also love having an extensive social life.

Face it, finding time to hang out with your friends gets difficult. You often find yourself missing out on cool things because you have a meeting or a night class. But because you’re always going from one place to another, you meet different people and expand your social circle.

4. You are constantly prioritizing.

You are constantly thinking about what needs to be done and when. You often find yourself making lists and figuring out what is the best way to go about completing things.

5. Fast lines (whether for coffee, food, etc.) are you best friend.

Your time is precious, so any moment where you can skip a line or only have to stand behind two people to get coffee is a gift from above.

6. You are always on the go.

Consider this your daily work out. It’s hard to skip leg day when you’re constantly moving from one location to another.

7. Power naps in random places are a staple.

If you ever find yourself with some free time in between meetings and classes, taking power naps is a treat. Even the most random places are the most comforting.

8. You’re never home.

You can’t remember the last time you made your bed or even slept in it.  Laundry has been on your radar but face it, when are you ever home to do it? You’ve become that mysterious roommate who people hear about but never see.

9. Early mornings and late nights are normal.

Sleep is important and you’re aware that you can’t function after an all-nighter. So with some help from your BFF coffee, you wake up early to get as much as done as you can. Even with an early start, you’re aware that there are more things that have to be done. You work your way into the night but even you know when you need to call it quits.

10. In the end, despite being sometimes strung out by your hectic schedule, you love all the things that you do. Face it, life would be a little boring without it.
