Halloween is next week! As college students, it’s hard to go door-to-door trick-or-treating but that doesn’t mean we don’t deserve to have some fun. So we’ve compiled a list of Halloween/fall things to do on and around campus.

  • Hampden (10/31): both kids and adults can go shop-to-shop trick-or-treating from 5-6PM along 36th St, north of Falls Rd, and south of Chestnut Ave. Afterwards, there’s a costume contest with 3 categories (Scariest, Prettiest, and Most Original) and prizes for each age bracket in each category. The contest takes place in front of Ma Petite Shoe (832 W 36th St.)
  • Peabody (10/31): the library hosts a yearly Undergrad Halloween Party starting at 6PM this year. The library itself is absolutely beautiful but when decorated with cobwebs, skeletons, and dimmed lights, it turns much more spooky. There are pumpkins to carve, costume contests, bowls of candy around, and of course, live music (hey, it takes place in Peabody after all).

  • Fells Point (10/31): for those who are of age (and maybe those who aren’t), Fells Point is a great place to go. There are numerous bars, some of which host costume contests too.
  • Rodgers Farm: no Halloween or fall day is complete without pumpkins. This farm has pretty good reviews and you can pick your own pumpkins here. Carve them, decorate them, use them as decorations, the options are endless.
  • Federal Hill (10/29): a bar crawl with food specials, costume contests, and more starting at 5PM. What more could you want?
