The day of celebrating love, oh what a joyous day to go out on a date with your significant other. Ice skating, a fancy dinner or a simple movie night at home are just a few ways to spend your evening on Valentine’s Day. However, with different activities comes different outfits and makeup looks. The amount of makeup and the colors chosen really do make a difference according to the occasion. So, I gathered two looks for tan and fair complexions: one for a casual evening look and the other for a fancy night out.

This first look is for our fair skinned gals out there. Keep in mind that you don’t have to have these exact brands and colors, just use whatever seems close! Starting off with the base, I applied the Benefit Professional primer. Rubbing it into the skin in circular motions, I swept the product away from the face. Next, I grabbed the Maybelline Fit Me foundation and applied a pea sized amount to the face, keeping it minimal for a natural finish. To set it all in place, I dusted a bit of powder all over the face, concentrating on the nose and forehead. Skipping the contour, I went straight for the highlight. I lightly fanned the Wet and Wild Mega Glow powder on the cheeks, brow bone, cupid’s bow and tip of the nose for a glowing finish. Now that the face is complete, let us move onto the eyes. I used the Too Faced peach palette for the entire look. I used “puree” and “summer yum” to create a contour on the crease. Then, I swiped “luscious” all over the lid with my finger and went back in with a blender brush and softened the whole look by using windshield wiper motions. Lastly, I used the e.l.f “beautifully bare” in the color “ touch of blush” to give the lips a bit or color. This look can be worn out for a cute picnic, a cute walk through the park, or a casual arcade date.

If natural makeup isn’t your cup of tea, then this next look is certainly for you! This look used the same products for the base, but includes a bit of contour and a heavy hand in highlight that will let you glow like a star. This look is going to focus more on the eyes so get your eyeshadow brushes ready.  The palettes being used in this look are Anastasia Beverly Hills “Modern Renaissance”  and once again the Too Faced “Peach Palette”. We are going to sweep “peaches and cream” all over the lid for an even canvas. Then, with your fluffy brush, we are going to go in with “puree” and focus that more in the crease. Once that is blended we are going to take “summer yum” on a smaller brush and pat that into the outer and inner corner of your eye to create a halo effect. Next we are going to take “fudge” in the ABH palette and pat a little bit on the outer and inner corner, careful not to take up the color too high or close to the center of the lid. Blend until the colors are seamless and take “Primavera” at the center of the lid with your finger. Take the blender brush and blend out any edges. Now we are going to take “talk derby to me” and “love letter” and mix them together before applying them to the lower lash line. This is going to make light eyes POP. To finish off the look, create winged eyeliner and pop on some mascara.  For lips, we used the Huda Beauty lip contour kit and chose a nude brown color to allow the focus to be on the eyes. And there is your second option if you want a unique look.

For us tanner complexions, most of the colors in the previous looks will not work as well on us so I came up with a slightly different version for the next two looks. For the natural look, we still use the same base with the same products, just different shades. For the eyes I used the Morphe 350 palette that doesn’t have any color names so I’m going to solely base my look on the colors itself. I used a medium brown to darken the crease and smudged a bronze metallic shade all over the lid. To soften this up, I took my shading brush and blended all the colors together before slapping on some mascara. For the lips I used the Clinique chubstick for my natural lip and sealed it off with setting spray.

For the fancy look, once again I used the same base but intensified the contour and highlight. This look is also heavily focused on the eyes. I took a reddish pink shade and placed it on the outer and inner corner and buffed that in. I then took a red to the same areas to darken the crease. After everything is blended, I took a sparkly light pink shade and pated that all over my lid. Then, I took a matte black eyeliner and created a winged look. After the eyeliner dried, I used a metallic silver eyeliner to lay on top of the black liner, to create a double wing. Lastly, I applied a rosy pink lipstick and topped it off with a lip strobe from Huda Beauty.

And that’s a wrap on the looks! Enjoy Valentine’s Day with your cute makeup looks and your cute date!
