Last Friday Night: Your Ultimate Guide to Experiencing IC Nightlife

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Ithaca chapter.

Ithaca College nightlife is kind of like ice cream; it’s somewhat predictable, it does damage to your body (my roommate ended up in crutches due to a bar related injury but that’s another story), but it’s almost always enjoyable.

Here’s the typical Friday schedule:

2:00 pm: Ask friends in your classes if they’re going out, even though you always end up at the same parties as them.

5:00 pm: Hit the gym to make yourself feel less guilty about the 600 calories you’ll be consuming in beverages later in the night.

6:30 pm: It’s dinnertime: time to discuss plans for the night.  The conversations usually go a little like this: 1″>

Biddie 1: “I heard there’s something at the lax house.” 1″>

Biddie 2: “Yeah, and there’s Kendall and Troy.” 1″>

Biddie 3: “Wait…Troy?  Ahh yes… we are so going there.”

7:45 pm: Shower n’ shave.

8:00 pm: Find a good 8tracks playlist- something with a title like “White Girl Wasted (part 2).”  Turn up the speakers and start getting your hair and makeup did.  Impromptu dance party with the roomies.

8:45 pm: Freak out about what you’re wearing and go through 5 last-minute outfit changes.

9:00 pm: Invite your biddies and bros from your floor over to pregame.

9:10 pm: The camera comes out with selfies and hand-on-hip poses galore.

10:00 pm: Make a water bottle to transport your drank for the road.

10:15 pm: Take the TKitty, cab or walk over to your house party of choice.

11:45 pm: Cops come and bust the party.

11:46 pm: Head to Second Floor or Moonies.

1:20 am: “Heyyy heyy baby! Ooh ahh.  I wanna knowww, if you’ll be my girl.”  Bars close.

1:23 am: Wait in line for a slice of Sammy’s Pizza. See some guy from your sociology lecture that you’ve talked to once before but hug him as if he is your best friend.

2:00 am: Run to the TCAT, where you and your biddies luckily make it onto the bus.  The grumpy driver makes everyone behind you back off, as it’s “too full.”

2:15 am: Go to someone’s circle or room to hang out.

3:30 am: Make it back to your room and pass out. Time for you to get some rest, so tomorrow you can do it all again!
